To celebrate its centenary, the PIR presents the photographic exhibition “Il Centenario PIR 1920-2020” in Marina di Ravenna, has published the book “Il Merito dei Padri. Storia de La Petrolifera Italo Rumena, 1920-2020” publishing house Il Mulino, and has made “On the tip of the Baiona” a documentary on the origins of PIR.

Locandina mostra Il Centenario PIR 1920 2020A century of life told through 47 photographs divided into four sections: Evolution of the Porto Corsini terminal, Portraits, La PIR and Marina di Ravenna, the PIR beyond Porto Corsini and Marina di Ravenna. A narration through images that unfolds from the First World War period to the present day and at the same time shows the development of the port of Ravenna, from the first industrial opportunities linked to the oil sector in the context of a still rural economy, to the technological innovations of the 2000s.

Through the events of La Petrolifera Italo Rumena we can get to know a piece of history of Ravenna and its important commercial port, the economic history of Italy, that of the oil, logistics, chemical and also banking sectors. And then the tragic events of the war, the years of reconstruction and the economic boom, the expansion phases and the oil crises. Up to the years of automation and globalization, always considering the link with the territory, with the awareness of the role that companies have in the growth of local communities.
